Walking by Arrabida Bridge (oil painting)
This is a view near Arrabida Bridge, in Porto, Portugal. Fishermen and casual tourists were hanging near the Douro River in a Saturday afternoon.
This is a very small painting (oil on canvas board, 10x15 cm) and I've used a complementary palette on it (this means that the main colors are complementaries in the color wheel - in this case, blue and orange).
This is a more limited palette than I'm used to, but there's indeed a sense of inner harmony of colors:
'blues' (French Ultramarine, Cobalt Blue and Winsor Blue, red shade), 'oranges' (Cadmium Yellow Hue, Cadmium Orange and Venetian Red), 'neutrals' (Raw Sienna and Payne's Gray) and the usual black & white (Ivory Black and Titanium White).
Somehow I used no black on this painting.
Thanks for reading!
P.S.: I know, the signature is missing :) . I'll have to wait a more dried surface.

Autumn Garden (oil painting)
I painted this scene from a nearby garden in Vila Nova de Gaia, named after a famous Portuguese sculptor (Soares dos Reis). The autumn colors were astounding and I took the chance to use several green pigments (all from Winsor and Newton). The dimensions are 50x70 cm (oil on canvas).

Rabelos in Douro river (oil painting)
This oil painting depicts Rabelos (ancient typical boats from the Douro river in Portugal). These boats were used for centuries in transportation of people and goods (namely wine) along the river. Today they're essentially tourists' attractions.
This painting is larger than usual (oil on canvas, 50x70 cm). The landscape is somewhat simplified, though I think the painting captures rather well the view we get near the river in Gaia.

Apple and bowl still life (oil painting)
Finally a new painting (oil on canvas 20x25 cm)!
This canvas sat idle on the easel too much time. Today I had some time I wanted to devote to painting; the light blue bowl was bought very cheaply and a red apple came to match.
The color palette was very narrow (6 colors). The colors used were (all from Winsor & Newton Artists' unless noted): permanent rose, winsor blue, transparent yellow, titanium white, ivory black and french ultramarine (this one from Winton).
